Welcome to McCombs on Main. Currently, this website consists solely of my blog. And my blog consists mostly of book reviews, with a focus on historical fiction and non-fiction. You’ll also find posts on travel, historic sites, dogs, craft beer and wine, and dog friendly locations. This site is best viewed with a computer, because there’s a lot of text!
My “day job” is that of Independent Partner with a fair trade business called Trades of Hope. I work with global artisans who are working to escape poverty and improve their lives. Their stories are inspiring, and I’m always happy to share them. Working with Trades of Hope has opened my eyes to a form of compassionate consumerism, and understanding why charity isn’t always the best option for a situation. The link to my shopping website is the menu above. Take a look around; you might find that one gift you’ve been searching for.
A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Great Britain, and became a naturalized American in 2010. I currently live in southwestern New York state with my husband of over 20 years and our dog, Moto.
